MalayMail Online: Taking Schools Chess Championships Seriously

Garry Kasparov & Nurul Izzah!

@The Oslo Freedom Forum!
This is taking place from 25 to 27 May 2015 - the daughter of our jailed former opposition leader, a member of Parliament in her own right, is a speaker.

What of course is of most interest to us is that she met on the sidelines with the 13th World Champion Garry Kasparov who is himself a long time and rather prominent advocate for Human Rights and I am sure it was not about chess!

(Update: Her speech is given at http://www.themalaymailonline.com/what-you-think/article/malaysias-most-wanted-nurul-izzah)

Now Its On To The Asian Schools Chess Championships In Singapore!

I will be managing media at both the 11th Asian Schools Chess Championships and the 15th ASEAN+ Age Group Championships held immediately after.

That's a rather long 20 days at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) which I understand is as far as an hour and a half from the city centre (this last bit is for those going and thinking that they can dump the kids, do some sightseeing and shopping and return in time).

Our official championship website is www.asiaschoolschess.com and we already have a Facebook page too https://www.facebook.com/asianschoolsaseanagegroup2015.
